The tire swing is an illustration of simplicity and resourcefulness, which are both rules of life I aspire to live by. To stand tall upon it's heights, combined with imagination, the tire swing quickly becomes a ship at sea, a plane flying above the clouds or simply a safe place to imagine possibilities. Creating the sense of a gentle summer breeze as the sun flickers through the leaves was my intention in this piece. Tucking the word "bloom" just beneath her dress hem and hovering just above the flowers is an expression to have faith in the moment for the possibilities of the future. My hope is that this piece will stir memories and inspire viewers to take a moment and enjoy some of the simpler things in life and continue to bloom.
